He was an officer of the Indian Administrative Service (1967 Batch). He has served the Government in various capacities, including Secretary & magistrate of various districts. During 1992- 94, was appointed leader of the Indian Delegation to the UN Conference on Biological Warfare. In September, 1991 was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Supplies & food & science & technology, Govt. of India. Currently he is the Director General of Institute of Directors, India.

Lt Gen J. S. Ahluwalia, PVSM (retd) is President of the ‘Institute of Directors’ and of the ‘World Environment Foundation’ (WEF). A Post Graduate in Electronics Engineering and MBA, he had specialized in engineering support to weapon systems of the Army. He has undergone extensive training in various manufacturing concerns in France, UK, USSR and Japan. He is an alumnus of the National Defence College and College of Defence Management. He is also a Chartered Engineer and Fellow Member of a large number of foreign and Indian professional engineering and management institutions. He was chairman of the ‘Institution of Engineers (INDIA)’, President of ‘Delhi Management Association’. He has also been on the Board of Governors of ‘Engineering staff College of India’, ‘Quality Council of India’ (QCI), ‘All India Management’ (AIMA).

Keynote Address H.E. Hani Rashid Al Hamli | Secretary General, Dubai Economic Council

He is the Secretary General of the Dubai Economic Council (DEC) since 2006, which is the strategic partner for the Government of Dubai in economic-decision making. Mr. Al Hamli has restructured the DEC Secretariat and set up the Dubai Competitiveness Center (DCC) in 2008, and initiated the “clusters development” and “macroeconomic modeling”: the Economic Policy & Research Center (EPRC) and the Legal Affairs & Research Center (LARC) for Dubai’s economy. Mr. Al Hamli has received many awards and certificates of appreciation from around the world. Most recently, the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) awarded him an Honorary Visiting Professor title at its Research Center. Mr. Al Hamli holds a Degree in business administration, and is an alumni of Higher Colleges of Technology, (UAE), LSE (UK), IMD (Switzerland), Harvard (USA), INSEAD (France) and Dubai School of Government (UAE).

Special Address H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih | Director General, Dubai Customs, UAE

With more than 21 years of proven experience in Customs work, Ahmed Mahboob has served Dubai Customs since 1994, where he gradually advanced through different managerial and leadership positions. As Executive Director of Customer Management Division, the role His Excellency assumed for several years, he successfully led the implementation of high-profile corporate projects, such as GCC customs union rules and regulations, Cargo Reconciliation and e-Inspection projects. He is also an active member in more than twenty local, regional and international task forces and committees, including the GCC Customs Union Technical Committee. Holder of a Bachelor degree in Sociology from the UAE University. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih is considered as one of the most influential young public figures in Dubai and the UAE. On March 11th 2014. H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih was appointed as Director of Dubai Customs by virtue of a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Dr. R. Seetharaman | Group Chief Executive Officer, Doha Bank, Qatar

Dr. R. Seetharaman, Group Chief Executive Officer of Doha Bank, is a recipient of multiple doctorates from leading universities of the world, including a Doctorate in Global Governance by European University and Doctorate of Laws by Washington College. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds certificates in IT Systems and Corporate Management. He has been named “Best CEO in Middle East” and “World Leader Business Person” and is a recipient of “The Gullands Excellence Award as a Phenomenal Banker”. Recently, he also received the “Life Time Achievement Award” from the Institute of Directors' at the Global Summit 2014 in Chennai. A regular commentator on international finance in global media outfits such as BBC, CNN, FOX, CNBC, Sky News, ABC, and Bloomberg, he has transformed Doha Bank as one of the best performing Banks in the Middle East region.

Ranjan Dhawan | MD & CEO, Bank of Baroda, India

Mr. Ranjan Dhawan has had a very vast and varied experience in banking. His experience has been in various Corporate Credit Assignments in the Banking System. He has also been the Managing Director of a Mutual Fund. Mr. Dhawan also started a Credit Card Business, and the Point of Sale business in Punjab National Bank. During his stint as General Manager (International Banking) in Punjab National Bank, he was responsible for putting up banking subsidiaries in UK, Bhutan and Kazakhistan as well as banking operations in Hong Kong and Dubai. He moved as Executive Director of Bank of Baroda in 2012, and was appointed MD & CEO in February 2015. Bank of Baroda is currently the second largest bank in India with banking operations in 24 countries including Middle East.

Chairman Address Justice (Dr.) Arijit Pasayat | Co-Chairman, Institute Of Directors & former Judge, Supreme Court of India

Justice (Dr.) Arijit Pasayat is Ex-Chairman of Authority for Advance Rulings on Income tax, Central Excise & Customs, Ex Chairman, Competition Tribunal of India, Retired Judge of Supreme Court of India and Ex-Chief Justice of Delhi High Court. He was the main architect behind introduction of Five Year Law Course in Orissa. He was Awarded Doctorate in Law by Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and Degree of LL.D. by Fakir Mohan University, Balasore. He has had a brilliant academic career, excelling in almost every academic examination. After graduation with Honours in English, obtained LL.B. from M.S. Law College, Cuttack securing First Rank, obtained B.Com. degree privately and after completing articleship, passed Intermediate Chartered Accountancy examination. Currently, he is also the National Co- Chairman of Institute of Directors.

Inaugural Address H.E. T. P. Seetharam | Ambassador of India to United Arab Emirates

H.E. Mr. T.P.Seetharam, currently Ambassador of India to UAE has previously served as Indian High Commissioner to Mauritius. He has handled India’s bilateral relations with countries in Europe as well as the European Union in New Delhi as Additional Secretary, West Europe and as Joint Secretary Central Europe. In Permanent Mission of India in Geneva, he was Minister (Disarmament) dealing with Conference on Disarmament. He has worked as Deputy Chief of Mission in Bangkok (Thailand) and dealt with UNESCAP. He also served in Indian Embassy in Phnom Penh (Cambodia). He was Press Secretary to President of India Mr. K.R. Narayanan. Ambassador Seetharam has considerable experience in Southern Africa having worked in Lusaka, Zambia and having helped open Indian offices in Windhoek, Namibia as well as in Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa. A Chinese (Mandarin) speaking officer of 1980 batch of the Indian Foreign Service, he was Director General of India- Taipei Association and has also worked in Indian Embassy in Beijing and Indian Commission in Hong Kong.

Release of Souvenir by H.E Mohammed Sharaf | Group Chief Executive Officer, DP World

Mohammed Sharaf has served as Group Chief Executive Officer of the Group since 2005 and as a Director of the Company since 30 May 2007. He joined Dubai Ports Authority in 1992, and in 2001 he became Managing Director of DP World FZE. In this position, he oversaw the Group’s growth into an international business and performed central roles in developing its first international operations at the terminals of Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Constanta (Romania) and Vizag (India) and in developing its national operations at Jebel Ali and Port Rashid terminals. He began his shipping career at Holland Hook terminal in The Port of New York/New Jersey and has more than 20 years’ experience in the transport and logistics business. He is also Chairman of Tejari World FZ LLC. He is Joint Vice Chairman of the US-UAE Business Council and a member of the UAE-Canada Business Council Board.

Introduction Dr Graham Wilson | Leadership & Organization Development, OXFORD, UK

Dr Graham Wilson graduated with a PhD in Behavioural Science from the University of Bristol. He worked internationally as a consultant in organisation development, helping to create exceptional places to work. He was honoured with the Distinguished Fellowship of the IoD in 1992 and contributed to many of their workshops in Total Quality and Excellence. In 1999, he qualified as a psychotherapist and since then has acted as a confidant to people in positions of power helping them exceed their own high expectations largely by better understanding the nature of human behaviour around them. He is a lecturer in leadership and business at The Oxfordshire Business and Enterprise School.

Distinguished Chief Guest Address H.H. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan | Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, UAE

H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan received his education from the British Midfield School until the high secondary level. Afterwards, he joined Majdolin faculty at Oxford University-UK. H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan has been appointed as Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research since February of 2006. He already served the position of Minister of Education during the period from 2004 to February of 2006. He has also served the position of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research from 1990 until 2004. He is the United Arab Emirates Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He is also Chancellor of two of the UAE's three government-sponsored institutions of higher learning: United Arab Emirates University, established in 1976, and the Higher Colleges of Technology, established in 1988; he is also president of Zayed University, established in 1998. Meanwhile, His Excellency was also a Chairman of several ministerial committees including the Ministerial Committee for Education and the National Committee for Workforce Planning.

Andrew is an audit engagement partner with PwC and has spent his career leading a variety of large international audit engagements. He has wide experience in a range of industries and across borders. He has also worked on management buy-outs, IPOs and other transactions, risk assessment and control effectiveness, investigations for regulators and expert witness work. In the late 1990s, he was a member of the PwC UK firm’s Board and was subsequently elected to PwC’s Global Board, which oversees the PwC international network. He was the Chairman of that Board from 2001 to 2005. He is the current Deputy President of ICAEW and a member of its Board and Council. Andrew is the chairman of the Audit Committee of the Royal College of Music and the treasurer of a local community cinema. He graduated from Cambridge University in 1976.

In 1971, Mirza obtained a Business Administration Degree, and joined the UAE overseas diplomatic corporation. In 1974 he became Head of UAE Consular Mission in Bombay, India, as a Counsellor. In 1976, Mirza was appointed as Counsellor and Minister in UAE Embassy, London. In 1979 he represented the UAE on the Political Committee of the United National General Assembly session. In 1980, he spent two years studying for a Masters Degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California (UK Programme) London. In 1983, Mirza took charge of investment affairs of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Government of Dubai. He has been appointed to the Board, as Chairman or Deputy Chairman, of numerous companies, both in UAE and overseas.

Ashwini Mehra | Dy. Managing Director & CDO, State Bank of India

Ashwini Mehra is Dy. Managing Director & Corporate Development Officer in State Bank of India, since November 2014. Shri Mehra was earlier Chief General Manager of the Bank’s Bengaluru Local Head Office looking after the state of Karnataka. He is a career banker with more than 3 decades of experience with the State Bank of India. He is Masters in Economics from Delhi University, Executive Development Programme at the IIM, Lucknow and some specialized programmes at Kellogg School, USA, Queen’s University, NY, and the World Bank Institute. He has considerable experience in the area of loans and advances. He has also worked in the mid-1990s at the Bank’s New York office as Asst. Vice President (Credit). He has also worked at the International Banking Division of State Bank of India, and till recently was on deputation to SBI Capital Markets Limited as EVP and Head of New Delhi Regional Office.

Osman Sultan | Chief Executive Officer, du Telecom, UAE

He is a veteran of the telecom sector, and one of its most well-recognised and influential leaders. Robin’s experience includes managing the UK’s Food and Drinks Industry Benchmarking and Self-assessment Initiative (1995-1998), New Zealand Benchmarking Club (2000-2004), Sheikh SAQR Government Excellence Program, UAE (2005-2007), researching national strategies to business excellence and productivity for Australia and the GEM Council (2006), Asia. Robin was awarded the Harrington/Ishikawa Medal in 2011 for contributions to the advancement of quality in the Asia Pacific region.

T. Suvarna Raju | Chairman & MD, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.

He is the CMD, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. Mr Raju a mechanical engineer is an alumnus of India’s National Defence College. Mr. Raju joined HAL in 1980, and grew up the ladder, obtaining varied experience of manufacturing and overhaul of the several fleets including that of Jaguar, Mirage and Hawk. He rose on the portals of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited as General Manager (Aircraft Division) and then to the post of Director (Design & Development). Mr. Raju was appointed as Chairman of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited on the 1st of February, 2015 and has now been re-designated as Chairman & Managing Director w.e.f. 01 April 2015. Mr. Raju is a recipient of Dr. Biren Roy Trust Award the Aeronautical Society of India, for his unstinted efforts in planning and establishment of new technologies at HAL.

He is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tech Mahindra. An accomplished business leader with extensive experience in international business development, startups and turnarounds, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, CP in many ways led Tech Mahindra's transformation journey, where he contributed significantly to the company's strategy and philosophy. A chemical engineering graduate from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, he is a distinguished and active alumnus of the Institute. He is Head - International Business Development, IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd. He joined IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd in September, 2010, as VP Finance & Controller. Prior to joining IL&FS Group, he spent 13 years in a variety of management positions with Praxair Inc, a Fortune 200 Company in Industrial gases, head quartered in Danbury. Deep was Asia Pacific Director - Financial Services & Information Technology based in Shanghai, prior to which he was Finance Director - Praxair India based in Bangalore. Deep received a bachelor of economics degree from St. Xaviers College, Calcutta University and a post graduate degree in business management from Indian Institute Of Social Welfare & Business Management, Calcutta. Prof. Colin Coulson-Thomas of the University of Greenwich and Director-General, IOD India, UK and Europe Operations, holds board, public and academic appointments, and leads the International Governance Initiative of the Order of St Lazarus. He is a member of the General Osteopathic Council, chair of the council's Education and Registration Standards Committee and chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of United Learning. He has helped directors in over 40 countries to improve board and corporate performance. Author of over 60 books and reports, he has held professorial appointments in Europe, North and South America, the Middle East, India and China. Colin was educated at the LSE, London Business School, UNISA and the Universities of Aston, Chicago and Southern California, and is a fellow of seven chartered bodies. Dinesh Deo | CEO, BNY Mellon International Operations (India) Pvt. Ltd

He is the CEO of BNY Mellon India since May 2011 and oversees growth in India, in addition to ensuring all operational and control links with other BNY Mellon locations including headquarters in New York. Dinesh serves on BNY Mellon's Operating Committee, in addition to the Asia Pacific Operating Committee. Dinesh also serves on the Board of Directors for BNY Mellon India’s legal entity. He joined the company’s Pune operations in November 2004 and has played a key role in the location’s evolution and success. Dinesh is a qualified chartered accountant and cost accountant. He is a certified Green Belt in Six Sigma Quality and obtained his bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Pune.

Dr. Ashraf Gamal El Din | CEO, Hawkamah The Institute for Corporate Governance

He is the CEO of Hawkamah, the Institute for Corporate Governance. Prior to joining Hawkamah, Dr. Ashraf was the Executive Chairman of Egypt Post, the largest financial institution in Egypt. Before that, he was the Deputy Executive Director of the Egyptian Banking Institute, at the Central Bank of Egypt. He was the Executive Director of the Egyptian Institute of Directors, the Institute of Corporate Governance in Egypt. Dr Ashraf served as a board member and head of Audit Committee in a number of listed, non-listed, State Owned and family owned companies. Dr. Ashraf is an Associate Professor of Management, Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University and holds a PhD degree from Manchester University, UK a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Carleton University, Canada, and a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Cairo University with highest honors.

Chair H.E. Juma Al Kait | Assistant Undersecretary, Ministry of Foreign Trade, UAE

He Joined the Ministry of Economy in 2003. In 2006, he was appointed the Director of trade agreements in World Trade Organization department. In 2009 he was appointed as the Executive Director of Foreign Trade Affairs, at Ministry of Foreign Trade. He participated in a number of ministerial and international trade conferences, as well as in a number of specialized courses and workshops in the field of trade negotiations. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Information Technology from the Higher Colleges of Technology, and holds an executive diploma in trade policies from the WTO "Geneva". He graduated from the UAE Government Leaders Program "Executive Leadership Category" 2010-2011. He supervised the preparation and completion of the first and second report of the Trade Policy Review of the United Arab Emirates, which was conducted by the WTO in 2006 and 2012. He is the Vice-Chairman of the UAE trade negotiating team of free trade agreements, the head of the Gulf cooperation Council (GCC) team on negotiations of free trade agreements in areas of trade in services and investment.

Speakers Hon. Angad Paul | Group Chief Executive Officer, Caparo Group Plc. UK

The Hon. Angad Paul joined Caparo in 1992. In 1993 he launched Caparo in India, and in 1999 chaired the company’s engineering division. He became Chief Executive of Caparo in 2002. Under his tenure, Caparo has grown from $450m sales to $1.5bn, moving from the manufacture of steel and engineering products to value added components, energy and financial services. He has also expanded the group into the Middle East and Poland, adding to the UK, North America and India. He graduated from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in Boston, USA where he received a BSc in Economics.

Rajeev Jain | CEO, GVK Mumbai International Airport, India

He is Chief Executive Officer of Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd., which has developed CSI Airport, Mumbai and also is operating this airport since May, 2006. Mr. Jain is included in this project since the beginning and having very senior level experience in Infrastructure sector spanning steel, telecom, aluminum and airport for more than 32 years. Mr. Jain is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and also fellow member of various other professional institutes in India and abroad.

Ajay Poddar | Chairman & MD, Syenergy Environics Ltd.

Dr. Anil Sharma | President & CEO, GMS Leadership

He is the Founder, President and CEO of GMS. Dr Sharma earned his MBA & DBA (Doctorate in Business Administration). He joined the Michelin Group in 1985, and has held several management assignments in Sales and Marketing in Central America, the Caribbean’s, Argentina, Spain and China. He spent 8 years in Brazil from 2002 to 2010, as VP of Marketing & Sales for the Truck and Bus division covering all South America. From June 2010 to March 2013, he was VP of Commercial Business for Michelin in North America (USA, Canada and Mexico). In 2013, he became Chairman & President of Michelin AIM Zone (Africa, India and Middle East). During his career, Nour also followed specific trainings in Finance at the London Business School, in Marketing at the Northwestern University (Kellogs) USA, and in Strategy at Harvard University, USA.

Surender Singh Kandhari | Chairman, Al Dobowi Group, UAE

In 1976, Mr. Kandhari came to Dubai and formed the Al Dobowi Group. The group is the leading management service provider in the UAE, and has a significant presence in Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Ghana, Europe and Canada. Mr. Kandhari is a vivid golfer and a founder member of the Emirates Golf Club where he has been the Club Captain. He is Vice President of the Auto Parts Merchants Group.
